Have you ever had a situation in your life where you tried your hardest to control the outcome, but failed?
You were sure you knew what was best and got so frustrated when things did not work out the way you thought they should. This is especially frustrating when the outcome depends on someone else’s actions or decisions.
As humans, we have a tendency to want things to stay the same; to be predictable, stable and secure. We want control over all aspects of our lives. Change is stressful so we often try to hold on because the known is more comfortable than the unknown.
It takes courage to let go of our expectations of how life is suppose to be and allow ourselves to be open to new possibilities.
I have been struggling with a situation of just this kind recently. “If only everyone involved would just do what I tell them, everything would work out perfect”. I am sure I am not the only one who has ever thought that!
The underlying emotion in this situation is really fear. Letting go requires releasing the fear of the unknown. Letting go of the ego that says we are in control and that we need to be in control to be safe. Having the courage let go and let divine order step in.
By trying to control all aspects of a situation, we may be interfering with divine order and stopping the progress we really are seeking. Things are not always as they appear. Sometimes we need to go through the storm to get to the other side where it is calm. We have to find the courage and faith to move forward not knowing what the outcome will be.
You can’t control the future but what you can control is the now and how you handle today. Can you cultivate gratitude and acceptance for what is? You will be surprised by how often you can look back and realize that those difficult times were just one brief step on the path to the future you most desired.
It takes courage to let go of the outcome, to move forward into the unknown. I suggest you move boldly into change. It is ok to make mistakes and to correct them if necessary. The important thing is that you move. Let go of what is and move forward with faith, allowing inspiration, new opportunities and synchronicity to come your way.
Affirm: I am open to change and allowing the situation to unfold in the perfect way. I trust in divine order.
I am always filled with a sense of peace when I open myself up and quit trying to control and let go! I wish the same for you.
