Your thoughts, or mindset, are very important to creating the life you want. If you are not happy with any area of your life, the first step is to look at your thoughts because they really do create your reality. One of the first things I do with clients is to help them identify which thoughts they need to change in order to achieve their goals. The right mindset is also needed to create, nurture, and maintain a successful and loving long-term relationship. These kind of relationships do not just happen. We do not fall in love and then live happily ever after. Relationships take effort and attention, but they are definitely worth it! The right mindset will provide you with opportunity, creativity, energy and confidence to create the life and the relationship you truly want, instead of settling for something you are not passionate about.
Sometimes what is needed is a new perspective. It might be time to remember all the reasons you fell in love in the first place. Shifting your perspective to one of gratitude and appreciation instead of focusing on what you do not like is an important practice. Let your partner know how much you love and appreciate them. Find the energy to spend quality time together, and yes, make sure you include some passion in the mix! Remember, the right mindset anchors everything else you do to create a loving relationship. Life is too short and relationships are too important to our happiness not to put all our effort into having the best relationships we can.
My dear friend and colleague, Glenn Proctor, award winning journalist, life coach and trainer, discusses “mindset” in his presentations and work with clients. We are collaborating to bring you a workshop on love and passion. We will be discussing mindset, ways to create, nurture, and maintain Unstoppable Relationships. We will provide you an opportunity to delve deeper and learn more about relationships and how to have a fabulous one! Below are some of Glenn’s words of wisdom regarding Mindset.
What is Mindset?
- Mindset is the beginning of CHANGE.
- Mindset provides OPPORTUNITY.
- Mindset spurs CREATIVITY.
- Mindset provides ENERGY.
- Mindset exudes CONFIDENCE.
- Mindset creates COMMUNICATION.
- Mindset is NOW.
- Mindset makes the FUTURE.
Personally and professionally, the right Mindset anchors the steps to success. Mindset is an individual mental quality and competency necessary for change.
The right Mindset brings:
Belief, Focus, Planning and Execution.
To create the right Mindset, individuals must understand the merits of self-leadership in personal and professional situations. Self-Leadership is:
- A solo event.
- Always practicing self-discipline. Correct yourself first.
- The ability to keep the plan in focus; adjust quickly when things go wrong.
- Being confident and practicing inner communication.
- The ability to keep your home and workplace communities of respect, accountability, motivation and creativity. At home and at work or school, celebrate good times and be transparent in bad times.
- Being a thinker and problem solver. Bring answers with your problems.
When things go wrong, plans go awry or others let you down, Mindset and Resilience will keep you on track. . Without Mindset and Resilience, inner strength is abandoned and we fail. Failure brings fear. Fear hinders mental, physical and emotional progress. Fear increases:
Distractions, Excuses and Waiting
Fear also allows internal and external naysayers to flourish. Then we quit. – Glenn Proctor www.reddjobb.com, REDDjobb, LLC, Charlotte, NC, Executive & Career Coaching/Business & Media Strategy, Motivation &; Women’s Workshops/Writing & Editing Services
