October is Breast Cancer Awareness month which has been making me think about the topic of femininity. So, I have decided to write my blog post this week on the topic of embracing and honoring our feminine side. I want you to not only embrace this side of yourself but exepress it in your daily life. We all have both masculine and feminine characteristics in our personality, and we use these sides of ourselves throughout the day. We express our masculine side at work when we are problem solving and when we are accomplishing tasks. Our feminine side involves feelings, emotions, creativity, our playful side, relaxing and getting in touch with our feelings and our bodies. As women in today’s society, we spend a great deal of time expressing our masculine energy. This can be exhausting if we do not spend time balancing our lives and finding time to be in our core feminine energy. This is where we take care of ourselves as women. It is important for our overall wellbeing to take care of ourselves spiritually, emotionally, physically and in our relationships. Embracing our feminine energy will look different for each woman, but I encourage you to take time for yourself this month and add something to your life for more balance.
Take a moment and consider what makes you feel feminine? What routines or rituals can you add to your life to embrace your femininity? Is it taking a bubble bath, reading a romantic novel, watching a romantic movie, lighting candles, getting a massage, practicing yoga or maybe a certain type of outfit? Think of something you can do in each of these categories, emotional, spiritual, physical and in your relationship to embrace your femininity and replenish yourself. Maybe consider adding something new each month until you are feeling more balanced in your life. I know for me I get caught up helping others in my job, focusing on all the tasks I need to accomplish, and taking care of others in my life. I get lost in that process sometimes and end up feeling depleted. That is why I have discovered a few of my own rituals for balancing my masculine and feminine energy, and so can you!
What can you do spiritually to take care of yourself and connect to your feminine energy? Maybe add some meditation to your routine or daily reading of inspirational material. How about spending some time in nature? If you are religious, making sure you spend time at church or maybe join a women’s group. What can you do emotionally to take better care of yourself? This is where it is so important to not just give to others but to spend time taking care and replenishing your soul. Finding ways to be happy is so important. Spending time in enriching friendships is very nourishing for women. Find time to be playful and enjoy life. Passion and a zest for life are very sexy! Take a vacation even if that means just spending some time sitting in the sun in your backyard reading. This is one of my favorite ways to ground myself. Give yourself permission to do something just for you!
It is also very important to take care of ourselves physically. Women have a tendency to take care of others and forget to take care of themselves until they become run down. How about adding some exercise to your routine? It may be as simple as taking a walk or some light yoga. Remember to eat healthy and get enough sleep. Small steps in this direction will make a big difference in your life. Even taking a relaxing bath in the evening to reduce stress is a wonderful addition to your daily routine. It is another of my favorite ways to de-stress. Once you are feeling more relaxed, you might just find more time and energy to enjoy your partner at the end of the day.
Getting in touch with your feminine energy will also play a positive role in your relationship. You will feel sexier from the inside out! Embracing your femininity means you are comfortable in your own skin and feel good about being a woman. This has to start with feeling attractive on the inside and feeling beautiful no matter your age, dress size or any other factor. It is not about looking perfect but feeling good about yourself. Imagine waking up every morning, looking in the mirror and feeling confident and beautiful. Imagine caring for your body and dressing for the day knowing you are stunning in your own unique way. Remember, our guys do not care about the little things we see as flaws in our body. They love and find us attractive as we are. So, how about looking in the mirror and seeing yourself through his eyes? Learn to appreciate all your curves and lines of your body and enjoy being feminine and sexy, for you and for your relationship.
